COC

We received the Certificate of Completion from the city in late December.  The contractor still has a small list of things to complete.  Now we just need to get him here to finish up.  It should be soon!

My husband and I moved my work table, dust collector, planer, router, and other goodies to the shop today.  It was a great feeling.  I’m getting close!  I can’t wait to build again!

On a positive note…

Our neighbors came over the other day.  They said someone who used to live in this neighborhood told them they thought we completely bulldozed the house and rebuilt!  That was exciting to hear.  The house really is looking great.  I just can’t wait until they are done with the inside so I can get working on the inside.  We’ve run out of places to store things keeping the working areas clear.

Like a snail…

Things are slowly coming together.  Our contractor sent workers over today to touch up the stucco and punch out our to do list.  I’m hoping we will be done soon because I am really itching to start building some of the pieces I have drawn out!

Trim and electric

The first coat of our trim has been painted.  I will post pictures soon.  Dick is going to take pictures with his good camera so you can see things better.  I love the colors we chose.

Most of the electric is done.

We are still waiting on the AC for the garage and a long list of odds and ends to be completed.  Oh yea, we need a driveway too!  Things are coming along.  I’d completely lost my patience, but I’m loving the end result.

Oh yeah, we now have a leak in one of the bathrooms they totally redid by tearing it down to the studs.  Fun, fun.  Hehe.

Another picture of our near(er) completed house!

House with stucco

It’s been a long, long time and not much has happened. Hehe. We did have the house stuccoed. They installed the soffits, facia, gutters, and columns on the house. It is starting to look put together. Today they installed some exterior lighting. They also hooked up a lot of the electrical. We are getting there!

Lath and electrics

The stucco men showed up at 7am to start their lath work.  I wasn’t expecting them this early and had hoped to sleep until 7:15 that day.  So I was caught sleeping in.  It serves me right.  Hehe.  They have been working ever since.   It is noon right now.

The contractor and electrician showed up to go over the electrics with my husband.  As I said previously, I don’t know much about electrics, so I left that up to them.

Doug, the head man at EarthWorks, also showed up while the contractor was here.  He wanted to check on the job his men did the other day.  We talked over some additional work we may want to have done with him before he left.

It is just all kinds of fun at our house.  The yard always seems to be filled with work trucks.

EarthWorks and Stucco Prep

The men from EarthWorks have been here off and on over the past week checking on the patio to make sure all is in order.  We also are having a little additional work done.  They showed up at 7:45 this morning to begin that.  I am so highly impressed with the quality of workers from EarthWorks.  They are so nice and skilled.

Kris showed up around 9 to retape around the new windows in preparation for stucco.  Our electric should be finished tomorrow.  Dick is staying home from work because I don’t know a thing about electrics.  Well, I can wire a lamp, but that is it.

Things are moving along.  Our house is starting to look great.

Out of business

No–not me silly!  Our contractor said the stucco men he usually works with (2 different companies) have gone out of business.  So he apparently has found a new one for us.  They should be starting the stucco process on Monday.  Yippee!

Patio nearly complete

Our patio is nearly complete. It looks amazing. I highly recommend EarthWorks. They have been amazing to work with.

The contractor should be starting the stucco process on Thursday.
